Renting video games was never something I considered. If I wanted to play a game, I bought it. I've been renting movies online for years, but for some reason I never tried renting games online. The price for video games just keeps getting higher and higher, making it difficult to keep buying every game I want to try. I also noticed that I have a large collection of games, many that I have never completed, or worse, never even played. Paying up to sixty dollars a piece for these games seems like such a waste.

I also noticed that I have a large collection of games, many that I have never completed, or worse, never even played. Paying up to sixty dollars a piece for these games seems like such a waste.

It is just a lot more cost effective to subscribe to a game rental service than it is to buy video games. I gave several services a try to see how they work. I probably should have tried this before since there are many advantages to renting games online.

My favorite benefit of renting video games is having the option of trying out a game to see if I like it before buying it. With so many games to choose from, it can sometimes be difficult to decide on what game to buy. Some games might look and sound great on the box cover, but when you plug it into your console, it's a major disappointment. By renting the games first, you'll be able to find out if it's worthy of being added to your gaming library. If you buy a lot of games, this can be a real money saver.

Are you are one of those players that complete games in just a day or two, never to play it again? Think of how much money you can save by not having to buy all those games. You could easily go through several games each month for about $16 with a game rental subscription, which could save you a couple hundred dollars or more. Just renting one game a month is a lot less expensive than it would be to purchase that game.

You also have a huge selection of games to chose from with a game rental service. The largest service has a selection of over 7000 games to chose from. These include games for all the major consoles like the Playstation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and others. Brick and mortar stores such as Blockbuster do not even come close to this kind of selection. You can chose from currently released games or games that have been out for several years.

Another great advantage is that the games are delivered right to your front door. You don't have to drive to the store to pick out a game and then drive back to turn it in when you are done. This is really nice for anyone that does not have a store located close by.

You can also forget about having to worry about returning the game on time to avoid getting hit for late fees. Most online video game rental companies allow you to keep the game as long as you like. It doesn't matter if you go through the game in a couple of days, or a couple of weeks. Return it when you are ready and they will send out your next game.
